US coach 'dies in gym shooting'

A high school sports coach who was shot in his school gym in the US state of Iowa has died of his wounds, a hospital official has said.
Ed Thomas was airlifted to hospital after the shooting in Parkersburg, some 80km (129 miles) north-east of state capital, Des Moines.
He worked at Aplington-Parkersburg High School and coached four NFL players, the Associated Press news agency said.
A local official said an adult male suspect had been arrested.
Students nearby were being offered counselling, according to authorities.
